2. Blue Berry—blueberries are very high in antioxidants and contain anthocyanins. These incredibly powerful antioxidants find and crush disease-promoting free radicals. One study published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry discovered anthocyanins are effective at inhibiting the growth of human tumor cells. A great way to incorporate them into your flat belly diet is to add them to a bowl of oatmeal.

3. Goji Berry – this berry isn’t well known but is very powerful. Chinese and Tibetan herbalists use it to boost the immune system and improve the body’s circulation. They are rich in carotenoids, yet another potent antioxidant.

4. Strawberries – believe it or not, strawberries have more vitamin C by weight than oranges! As you may know, vitamin C strengthens your immune system, reduces inflammation, and even helps restore collagen in the skin. For a healthy dessert, slice strawberries and top with low-fat whipped cream.

7. Tomatoes-- tomatoes are a rich source of vitamin C and lycopene. Research suggests lycopene may help prevent prostate cancer. And other initial research also suggests that lycopene can help with macular degenerative disease and help reduce the risk of lung, bladder, cervix, and skin cancers.

8. Red Grapes—red grapes contain resveratrol, a potent anti-aging antioxidant. Resveratrol is the antioxidant found in red wine, responsible for the many heart-health benefits. In a landmark study, overfed mice were given resveratrol. The result? Resveratrol kept the mice from gaining weight. It completely transformed their health, and turned them into “the equivalent of Olympic marathoners.” Plus, it slowed down the aging process. In fact, resveratrol is so effective, drug companies are already trying to mimic its benefits in drug form. To get your daily dose, eat 1-2 cups of grapes a day.

9. Apples – The old adage, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away” has truth to it. Apples are high in antioxidants. Plus, they’re a great source of fiber which helps you burn more fat.
