The Ab Lounge …
Does It Really Help You Get Six-Pack Abs?
You’ve probably seen the infomercial time and time again…
I’m talking about the Ab Lounge. And you’d like to know… “does this Ab Lounge thing really work?”
Well, it can help you exercise your abs to an extent. But that’s about it.
So if you were hoping that something with a name like the Ab Lounge (which in itself implies you won’t have to work, rather you’ll “lounge”)
can really get you a six pack, I’m sorry to burst your bubble.
The only way possible to get a flat stomach like the same fitness models you see selling the frickin’ Ab Lounge is to eat right and
exercise.
Unfortunately there is no other way short of liposuction.

Sure, supplements, vitamins and minerals can certainly help. But nothing can take the place of sound nutrition and an intense workout
routine.
Sorry for the rant. Back to the Ab Lounge…
The only saving grace about this thing is if you have a bad back. In that case, it might actually be beneficial for you. But if you do decide
to plunk down the cash for it, remember this:
You’ll still need to eat right and exercise your entire body (i.e. lifting weights, doing short bursts of intense cardio, etc).
And if you already have an Ab Lounge and/or are planning to buy it, pay close attention... When you work out on it, don’t rely on your upper
body to do the work for you. This is a big mistake I see many people make at the gym when they work out on the “Ab machines.” They use their arms
and upper body to help them ‘crunch’ down.
Instead, focus entirely on the abs. Make sure they are what initiate your movement. And keep them tense the entire time. The arms are just
there for balance and support. Not to do the work for you.
Also, don’t rely on momentum. Minimize as much momentum as you possibly can. This ensures you’re working out with the proper intensity.
So in summary:
To get a six pack, you must eat right. This means no junk food. It also means eating 4-6 small meals spaced evenly throughout your day. This
keeps your blood sugar level and provides your body with a constant flow of vital nutrients.
You also have to exercise. That means consistently sticking with a weight lifting routine (or you can use your own bodyweight. Pushups and
pull-ups for example). And finally, you have to do some intense cardio.
This doesn’t mean running for two hours on the treadmill. Instead, do short intense bursts. For example, you could sprint for 50 yards, and
then walk for 2 minutes. Then repeat this four more times.
And finally, remember: Ab gizmos like the Ab Lounge do provide a way to exercise your abs. But they are unnecessary. In fact, they will not
help you get the beach body you crave. Only diet and exercise will.
So next time you see the infomercial selling you the Ab Lounge or whatever, simply smile. You know better than that.
To a happier, healthier, you!
