How to Lose Your Love Handles, Once and For All!
If you’re like most people, you’re probably trying to lose your love handles by focusing on exercises like side bends, oblique leg raises, and
side twists.
But as you may know (especially if you’ve been reading the articles here on AbExercisesGuide.com) no amount of ‘target’ exercise will help you
lose fat in one specific area.
Put simply, unless you’re going to consider liposuction as an option, you can’t spot reduce.
Now, I will say that one of the biggest frustrations of both men and women is wanting to lose their love handles and not being able to despite
everything they’ve tried.
So how to you do it?
Well, first you have to understand what your love handles really are.
They are the result of fat that’s accumulated over the years. In many people, the love handles are what create the “muffin top” look when
wearing a tight pair of pants or shorts.
The reasons for love handles are many… genetics, metabolism, too much junk food, and not enough of the right kind of exercise.

And in order to lose your love handles fast, you’re going to have to make a few lifestyle changes.
The first is your diet – the only way you’ll lose your love handles is by lowering your overall body fat percentage. This is why good
nutrition is absolutely critical. By eating right, you can speed up your metabolism, causing it to burn more fat, even when you’re simply sitting
on the couch watching your favorite show.
Another point to take in consideration when it comes to nutrition is that you’ll have to limit your caloric intake. Even if you’re eating
healthy foods, too many calories and not enough exercise will still make you fat.
This certainly doesn’t mean you’ll have to starve yourself. On the contrary, all you’ll need to do is eat smaller meals spread out evenly
throughout the day. It also means cutting out sugary sodas and juices and drinking water instead.
The second thing you’ll have to focus on is strength training. This helps you lose your love handles because it promotes the production of fat
burning, muscle building hormones. And the more muscle your body has, the more calories you burn even at rest.
The third and final component that is essential if you want to lose your love handles is a good cardio training program. Now before you roll
your eyes at me (just kidding), realize that I’m not talking about riding the stationary bike for hours at a time. The truth is that this kind of
“old fashioned” cardio is actually counterproductive to your overall fat loss efforts.
What you want to do instead are short but intense bouts of cardio. Cardio done this way promotes muscle growth and fat loss. For example,
think of a marathon runner. The majority of them are very thin with little muscle mass. Now think of a sprinter. Most sprinters are muscular,
toned, and ripped.
This means that if you want to lose the love handles and build a great six pack, you’ll need to do what sprinters do – short, intense bouts of
cardio. This can be just all-out sprints, or a cardio program of alternating intensities (i.e. 30 seconds of walking, followed by 60 seconds of
all out sprinting, followed by 30 seconds of walking etc.)
If you follow the three components I’ve outlined above, you’ll lose your love handles in no time flat! And the funny thing is, you’ll realize
how simple it all really is.
