Muscle Gaining Diet Secret #2 – Eat 1.5 Grams of Protein per pound of bodyweight.

Yes, it’s a lot of protein. But protein is the building block of muscle. So it only makes sense that you’ll need a boatload of the stuff.

Ideally, you should try to get all your protein from lean animal meats. This includes foods like turkey breast, chicken breast, tuna fish, eggs (including yolk), and lean cuts of red meat.

If you’re vegetarian or vegan, you can rely on tofu/soy protein.

In addition, you should also get a quality protein powder. This will make it easier to get all the protein you need, especially if you’re pretty busy.

Muscle Gaining Diet Secret #3 – Eat 5-6 Times Per Day

You should be eating every 3-4 hours. This comes to about 5 -6 meals during the time you’re awake.

This ensures your muscles have all the protein and nutrients they need to GROW.

Every meal should consist of 30-60 grams of protein (depends on your body weight), veggies, healthy fats, and complex carbs.

Complex carbs are usually low-glycemic. These are foods like plain oatmeal, quinoa, brown rice, and sweet potatoes.

Also, make sure you get healthy fats into your diet. Great sources for this are egg yolks, almonds, walnuts, avocados, olive oil, and coconut oil.

Don’t worry about getting fat. Eating healthy fat is actually incredibly good for your body.

Muscle Gaining Diet Secret #4 – Muscles DON’T GROW IN THE GYM

It’s a misnomer that your muscles grow when you work them out.

On the contrary. The gym merely provides the stimulus your muscle need to grow. It’s when you’re resting that all the action takes place.

Therefore, you really need to incorporate a TON of rest into your muscle gaining diet efforts.

So that means get plenty of sleep. And include plenty of rest days in your workout routine.

I know this isn’t necessarily a muscle gaining diet “secret” per se, but it’s something so many people fail to do. Many times, you can be doing everything right, but all you need is a little more rest.
